“Don't leave Rhodes without visiting Vasilis Restaurant”

On a ten-day trip we had 4 times (!!!) dinner at Vasilis restaurant. At first it seems a bit hard to find (it's not in one of the mainstreets or regular restaurant squares), but once you found it, it's great! The atmosphere is magic, it's like you're having dinner in a peacefull, forgotten garden in the centre of the old town of Rhodes City. Service is perfect and the staff is always nice and friendly. Always a warm welcome and no pushy staff to sell you the more 'expansive' dinners or drinks. The food is wondefull... The lamb-souvlaki is my favourite, for sure! Swordfish and other fish is also perfect. Don't leave Rhodes City wihout going to Vasilis!

“Yummy”

On a two week trip around the Mediterranean this made our best food list. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to try more on the menu however the lemon chicken is crave-able.

“Great value and very 'Greek'”

We visited this restaurant twice - once for lunch and once for dinner. The menu was typical of a Rhodes Town restaurant; very extensive with a huge range of Greek dishes as well a pizza/pasta etc.

The halloumi and tzatziki were excellent! Not much in the way of vegetarian choices but I had a delicious vegetable dish that was a bit like a tagine.

The staff were always friendly, and the courtyard setting was lovely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner.

“Lovely Atmosphere”

Finding your way to this restaurant is not easy, but well worthwhile. It is beautifully laid out, and the hospitality is typically Greek. The menu is varied and the food well-cooked. We ate there 3 times in a 7 night stay and couldn't fault it. It is located on Sofocleous street - best way to find it is to start on Sokratous, which is the 'main' street, turn on to Platonus and follow it round to a sqare where there is a 'hookah' place - just past that on the right is Vasilis. As you look in to the garden, where most of the tables are located, you'll see a water feature and a statue of a Greek God. Enjoy!

“Un sogno”

Il ristorante è localizzato nella città vecchia, già alla prima occhiata invita il cliente ad entrare. L'atmosfera è tranquilla e tra il sogno e la realtà. Ci sono cascate di acqua, alberi, statue anche di una certa dimensione e più o meno ogni tavolo ha su un lato un divano stracolmo di cuscini si stile arabeggiante. Abbiamo apprezzato molto sia la cucina che il servizio. Tutti i camerieri erano sorridenti e pronti ad aiutarti nella scelta, nonostante il locale fosse piuttosto (molto) affollato. Noi ci siamo recate in questo ristorante per ben due volte e abbiamo spaziato dagli antipasti ai dolci. Gli antipasti (mesedez) sono piuttosto vari si va dal classico tzatziki e all'humus a piatti quale il tamara (una salsa prodotta dalle uova di pesce) o la skordalia (salsa di patate a base aglio) il tutto accompagnato dalla pita (davvero divina). Poi ci siamo orientate su piatti della tradizione: la prima volta moussaka e souvlaki (di maiale); la seconda volta abbiamo preso pittaroudia (polpettine di ceci servite con yogurth, a me sono piaciute un sacco anche se il gusto di coriandolo è un po' intenso), feta al cartoccio (mi hanno portato la feta avvolta nella carta stagnola insieme a cipolla rossa e peperoni) e soutzoukakia (polpettine di carne in sugo di pomodoro). La conclusione idea per queste cene da re è lo yogurth greco servito con una montagna di miele e nocciole, questo è a dir poco delizioso (pensate solo che è così denso che il cucchiano rimane in piedi!!). Come bevande invece la prima volta siamo andate sulla Mythos (birra greca) e la seconda volta abbiamo deciso di provare la Retzina (vino bianco greco dal gusto molto aromatizzato e fruttato). La ciliegina sulla torta è stata l'ouzo con caffè offerto dalla casa. Il tutto per un costo di circa 20euro a testa. Andateci non vi pentirete!

“Per concludere degnamente una splendida vacanza a Rodi”

Il ristorante si trova nella città vecchia. Si respira un'atmosfera molto intima e rilassante ed i tavoli si trovano all'interno di un bel giardino. Il personale e' molto gentile ed attento. Il menu offre una vasta gamma di piatti della cucina greca, c'e' davvero l'imbarazzo della scelta! Abbiamo mangiato tzatziki, pane pita, dolmades, suvlaki, moussaka, humus, e tante altre cose deliziose. Ogni boccone era un piacere per il palato. Il rapporto qualità prezzo e' ottimo e vi consiglio vivamente di andarci!
